Leila Djitli goes back to a “ghetto“in Corbeil-Essonnes that she knew as an adolescent. Twenty years ago, there was no withdrawal within one’s community or fundamentalist Islam issues. Nowadays, most of the girls talk about the hijab and Islam. What happened? What do these girls’ lives look like from now on? Do they feel threatened? How can one quantify the decline that happened in twenty years?
