Promising Young Life Engineer Hsian Tan is the only son of a family spoiled by his sisters and parents. His sister Ching marries Lin Tso, and the newlyweds, unable to get an occupation permit for their new flat, are forced to join the Hsiangs to take up their rooftop quarters for the time being. His other married sister Feng who has been occupying them with her husband is unhappy to leave room for the couple.

At a Company party, Tan and his colleague get deadly drunk, and Lien informs, the latter's wife. When Tan enters the building, he is caught by a girl in a Girlie Bar and robbed. Man happens to pass by and mistakes him for a whoremonger and testifies innocently against him. His folks are disappointed by his misconduct and give him a hell, causing him much embarrassment.
